How to Find Roblox Developers

How to Find Roblox Developers on Twitter/ X

Twitter / X is always flocking with amazing developers that share their creations.

Roblox developers are always on Twitter.

Take a look at this post (I made it).

There’s a “#RobloxDev” tag.

#RobloxDev is a common tag that developers use to let the X algorithm know that it’s content related to Roblox Developers.

So, as someone that’s looking for Roblox Developers to hire, you can go into X and search for “#RobloxDev”…

If you search Twitter with RobloxDev, you'll find many Roblox developers to hire.

And at your fingertips, hundreds of amazing creations by Roblox developers all around the world!

Guidelines on Hiring Roblox Developers

To hire them, you can reply to their posts and ask them if their commissions are open.

Oftentimes, you can go to their profiles and if they’re a UI designer, 3D modeler, or some type of artist, they oftentimes will have a commission sheet that tells you how much they charge for their services (in robux and USD).

Generally, someone with a lot of experience will have higher prices while beginners have lower prices. When messaging others for their services, please make sure to be polite and to respect their prices.

For a lot of developers, their prices are set in a way that allows them to take on commissions for a living.

Also, a general guideline: The higher the price you pay, the better the experience you will probably have.

There are a lot of developers who charge you money, and then block all communication with you forever after you’ve paid. Those types of developers are scammers.

Sometimes, instead of hiring Roblox developers. You may want to learn the skill itself.

If you’re looking to learn Roblox scripting, you can get started here.

How to Avoid Scams When Hiring Roblox Developers

In order to avoid them, adopt this phrase:

“If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

If someone’s offering to make your entire game for 100 robux, you should avoid it.

If someone’s offering to script your entire feature if you pay the entire amount first, you should avoid it.

Look for Trusted Developers

Trusted developers have worked with many clients before, and have proof of their scripting experience.

They often have a portfolio that you can look at, showing all of the things they’ve made on Roblox.

Professional developers have really awesome portfolios, showing years of hard work and experience.

The best have developed for successful games and know things that most people in their field don’t that can save you time and money in the future.

When I script for others, I show screenshots and videos every time I get work done to keep my clients updated on their order. I also script in a way where the code is easy to understand and bug-free, so that they won’t lose time trying to fix unforeseen bugs later in the future.

Use the 50/50 Commission Structure

Most often, scammers get you to pay all of the money first before they begin.

To avoid this, you can use the 50/50 commission structure rule.

It’s pretty simple:

Pay 50% of the agreed commission price first.

Then, let them develop the entire feature.

Once they have shown you screenshots of the entire feature, pay them the remaining 50% and they will give you the feature.

For example, let’s say you’re hiring someone to model 3 pets for you for $30.

Pay them 50% of the $30 first.

50% of $30 is $15.

So, you pay $15 first.

Then, they’ll model the pets for you.

Once they have shown you the fully modeled pets, you can pay the remaining $15.

This way, you risk $15 and not $30.

There’s an even better version of this 50/50 commission structure that I employ with my clients to minimize loss on both sides, which I call the milestone system.

Check out the milestone system by clicking here.

Finding Roblox Developers on Discord

Most developers are also active on Discord.

But, it can be difficult to find them.

One large server is called Hidden Developers.

Hidden Developers has been around for many years, and it offers an effective way of hiring developers.

As you can see on the left side, there’s a ton of channels where you can find developers to hire.

If you were looking to hire someone to build a map, you’d look at the #building-hirable channel and you’ll have a ton of experienced builders at your fingertips.

You can look through for your perfect candidate, and then right click and hire them.

Hidden Developers also has its own basic scam prevention methods, where it screens developers before they’re allowed to post in the channel.

Although, this is a very basic screening method and it doesn’t guarantee that you will be completely safe from scammers. Always do your due diligence.

How to Approach Roblox Developers You Want to Hire

Now this might be a bit confusing to you: “Why is there a section on how to talk to developers?”

Well, that’s because the first interaction you have with them will have a huge impact on whether or not they’ll work with you.

For example, if you approached someone with: “script my game for $1 or else!”, they will probably block you.

Instead, be professional.

You can use this template:

“Hi, I’m <your username>. I am working on a game where <describe your game> and I was hoping to hire a developer to make this <add your feature> for me. I came across your portfolio and I really like the way you did <something they did>. Please let me know if this interests you.”

This will get you WAYYYY more responses than 5 words.

If you use this template:

  • You’re telling them who you are
  • You’re telling them about your game
  • You’re telling them why you’re contacting them
  • You’re telling them something you liked about their work

And above all, you’re doing it in a kind way!

Try it out whenever you hire someone.

That’s all for now.
